Hinge leaves

Vertex hinges are manufactured from solid brass extrusions. The leaves are accurately machined to close tolerances in pairs.As a result, left and right leaves are not interchangeable with other hinges of the same size. To ensure smooth operations and prevent binding, do not mix hinge leaves during installation.

Installation

The leaf with three knuckles should be mounted on the jamb and the leaf with two knuckles on the door.

Ball and finial tips

The solid brass tips are threaded and removable. They have been moderately tightened at the plant in case they need to be removed during installation. After installation, we suggest that the tips be tightened securely to prevent them from loosening. Please exercise care to ensure that the tips do not get scratched while tightening. For applications where the hinges are likely to be exposed to vibrations (e.g. marine applications), we suggest using a small amount of adhesive like Loc-tite on the threads.

Care and cleaning

Oiling the pin and joints periodically with a drop of light household oil is recommended for smooth movement of leaves and extending hinge life.

To clean the hinge, gently wipe surface with a soft moist cloth. Please do not use any abrasives or chemical cleaners on the hinge.
